This picture is just so...me. I've been trying to draw a good, accurate self-portrait for so long now, but I could never get it right. I just didn't look at all like myself.

Then, I had an epiphany. The only way to draw a good picture of me would be to make it into almost a caricature. So, I did, and it came out looking SO much like me that, if you know me, you'll probably burst into hysterics. (Especially, you, ~chiz )

Firstly, the expression came out just how I wanted it. I really am completely asymmetrical, my eyebrows are thick and have points on the tops, and my eyes really are blue with yellow rings around the pupils (albeit not such BRIGHT yellow rings, but it is a caricature). Secondly, the hair...oh, the hair is so right, because it looks like it almost defies the laws of nature, which it does. And, no, I don't have hairspray or gel in it. Thirdly, I actually managed to get that ambiguous look of mine in there, because I look a little like a drag queen. Yay!

Let me explain the ugly dress and the orange soda. If you know me, you recognize that dress. Its my version of that hideos article of clothing that everyone has and wears all the time, despite the fact that it's...well, hideous...and falling apart. It's comfortable, dangit!

Orange soda is my coffee, and the empty/half empty cans serve as my mandatory artist's overabundant trash item. You know, that one thing that litters an artist's (of any sort, be it visual, literary or musical) workspace? Some people have their gum wrappers. I have orange soda cans, which form a great forest of orange aluminum that streches as far as the eye can see. (I have such an orange fetish...Orange soda, orange juice, orange toothpaste, mouthwash, multipurpose cleaner...the actual fruit...and more that I'm not even going to try and list...)

Okay, I'm going to stop talking now. Just look at the pic and feel free to laugh at me. I'm a strange-looking person, and I'm PROUD!
